Old Albuquerque
High School
Old Albuquerque High School was converted to private lofts for urban city dwellers a few years ago. But before that it was an abandoned building that was facing demolition. About twenty years ago, I assembled a videographer named Joe Speer and along with his buddy Reinhard Vogel, we made a film based on reflections of my experience in High School back in Chicago. This three-part video was shown in its entirety on local cable channel 27 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We hope you enjoy the show!
Itinerant raconteur and poet Beatlick Joe Speer currently lives in a 1977 VW bus and is touring the Southwest and Mexico along with Beatlick Pamela Hirst. They maintain a strong internet presence at www.beatlick.com. Born and raised in the land of Anasazi ruins, Speer specializes in literature of the 1920s and films of the 1960s. He is a graduate of New Mexico State University and can be contacted at beatlickjoe@yahoo.com or send us a postcard at:
