WOW! This is like old home week. I have family members who used to work at the HPD site not too far from Trestle. George Sereno & his USN Submariner Buddies & I used to work (actually it was more like a very enjoyable tour) at DEC on the PDP-11's and visited the Trestle site. I remember a short body 747-?? on the track many years ago. Thanks for the trip back down memory lane.

I worked on the PDP 11/70, that performed some functions at the trestle, several times during my stint as a support engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation. I related a story to my submarine veteran buddies about a particular incident and one of them asked for further information which lead me to this web site. I appreciate your efforts to tell the story of the trestle and the people behind it's construction.
Chuck Reuben:
Thank you for the kind words, George! You can watch a very cool movie about the trestle on a page at the site I maintain at work, located here: http://ece.unm.edu/summa/notes/trestle_movie.html

hi honey,
Boy that was a great trip you made -- and how wonderful that the family was all there with you and showing you such a great time. You are a good brother to record all this and to make the history for us that we will all be wanting to remember after we can't remember anything anymore. love, sioux

Chuck:
Thank you for your tenacity, Lawrence. I know it is difficult to get past my spam filter but you seemed to have succeeded.
It was a pleasure making your acquaintance and I hope to find somebody who can help you with your calculus problem.

On the page about Cerrillos,New Mexico, I have the Cerrillos petting zoo which you attribute to Bill Baxter. The Cerrillos Hills Historic park has changed hands and is now our newest New Mexico State Park. Thanks for a neat article. You might like to visit my Cerrillos turquoise mine site - cerrillosturquoise.com. Todd Brown
Chucksville:
My humble apologizes, Todd. I'll get around to fixing that error forthwith. On the other hand, give me a day or two: I've got to find a decent internet connection to upload the correction. I look forward to visiting Cerrillos again some day. Thar's gold in them thar hills.

Dear Chucky:
What a wonderful re-visit with you, as you told of our adventures together, and your further adventures with Linda. It really was fun, and I look forward eagerly to your next visit, too.
You were a good "uncle" to Barnaby. I thank you and I salute you!
Love,
Shelly
Chucksville:
Barnaby was a good ferret, even if he did have a habit of biting me from time to time. I shall miss him.

I always wondered how they defended EMP; now I know. How very elegant. if only Tesla's Wardenclyff Tower had been preserved, how I would have loved to see it.

Got to your site through Kirk Shoemaker's Living Along the Ancient Way FB page. I live along the Ancient Way at the edge of Ramah and had the pleasure of going to several concerts at Joel's fantastic music hall. As sad note: neither Kirk Clawson nor Paul Merrill are with us any more, so the record of the visit to Ramah is a fine tribute to both of them who did so much for our community!
Chuck:
Thanks, Reed. I'm glad I got to meet Kirk and Paul during my trip to Ramah. May they rest in peace.

I found your webpage about Ramah, NM and Ramah Music very interesting. One suggestion, it would be much easier for your readers to find the Ramah Music Page if you hyperlinked the words RAMAH MUSIC PAGE to the RAMAH MUSIC webpage in the final paragraph - If you would like to hear some of the music of Ramah, New Mexico, please check out the visit the Ramah Music page.
I couldn't find the Ramah Music Page on your website and had to do another google search to find it. A hyperlink to it would be so much easier and simpler.
Chuck:
Excellent advice, Kirk. I have made the changes you suggested. I hope they help visitors navigate the site more successfully. Take care!

I found your page while performing a google search to figure out what the large, wooden trestle "thing" on Kirtland AFB was. I certainly was in for a surprise. Not only did I enjoy learning about the ATLAS Trestle (thank you very much, great write-up), I loved all your stories that I read about baseball and skateboarding and new mexico and travel. Cool. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to read more! Now, off to listen to some Dr. Baum music...

Enjoyed the Acela story. I happened to see the GrandLuxe train (formerly the American Orient Express)at the Alvarado Station in Albuquerque a few years ago while waiting for the Railrunner to take me home. I went online to investigate it's history and thought what a fun trip this would be someday. The GrandLuxe Rail Journeys ceased operating in August 2008 but has now been purchased by new owners and will begin tours of the Nat'l Parks again in 2011. Just in time after I retire! Your story about riding the Acela reminded me of train riding for something other than an economical mode of transport to and from work. Thanks for re-inspiring me!
I'll come back again soon to read/see more of your site.

Hi Guys, Visited this forum / www.chucksville.org once or twice and I see a few familiar faces, so i figure registering and saying hello is the wise thing to do
Thumbs up to the Admin, I enjoy reading for a long time, thanks guys.. thumbs up and keep the good work.
Chuck Reuben:
Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you see some familiar faces. I try to keep the site fresh but alas, I must make a living and that keeps me busy. However, I have learned soooo much from running this place and the best satisfaction of all is seeing a new face walk through the front door.
